The Rink Project is a series of charity photo exhibits in support of Winnipeg community clubs with all proceeds going to the General Council of Winnipeg Community Centres.
The Rink Project celebrates Winnipeg’s community clubs as hubs of hockey development; bringing awareness to a thriving culture, the grassroots version of Canada’s most popular sport and the community clubs where that all takes place. To raise money for Winnipeg community clubs, original photos of outdoor hockey scenes will be sold at various community clubs across the city.
Next exhibition: Riverview 4 on 4 Tournament, February 10-11
Special guests: Thomas Steen and Dr. Jon Gerrard
Media event February 11 at 2:30 p.m.
"This project is a great way to celebrate community hockey while giving back to the organizations that make it possible, our community centres. Palmer's project really spoke to me and I am happy to support it."
Thomas Steen, City Councillor for Elmwood-East Kildonan, former Winnipeg Jet
“[We] support Palmer in his efforts in bringing awareness to the 64 community centres and to the thousands of volunteers who give countless hours of their time."
Marlene Amell, executive director of the General Council of Winnipeg Community Centres
"We are very supportive of this community-based project and its message. Community centres are a great resource and Palmer's project gives something back to them while bringing the community together. We encourage everyone to visit his exhibits."
Dr. Jon Gerrard, MLA for River Heights and leader of Manitoba Liberal Party
